The Priory Plan This magazine is quite bold and plain, it has manipulated photo of two students and a bit of colour to add to the magazine cover. This magazine does not stand out as it doesn’t have much colour only green. The front cover also does not have much stories and so it doesn’t draw the audience in much. It advertises a free IPod which could possibly draw the readers in but other than that it is very simple. Nevertheless, the Contents page on the other hand is very well laid out again it has the same colour scheme too which is good as it shows that’s the colour of the school it also has a logo which again shows it’s a school magazine. The contents are laid out in clear writing and it also has sub-contents which adds a bit more detail to the what the topic is about, and the picture on the right hand side shows the school in pictures which I think is vital.

This magazine cover has the Title and the school logo clearly written at the top and news in bold writing emphasising on the main aspect of this magazine. It has blue boarders to again show the school colour and the picture in the middle which has a student with a sign board behind saying Welcome to the Maths department, this I think is a clever picture because it almost inviting the readers to the department without physically letting them know by writing on the magazine. Again this magazine lacks a lot main stories which are going to be covered by the magazine. Nevertheless they attract audience with free logo at the top and have one debatable question at the bottom which is up for discussion in the magazines. Therefore these features could attract audience. The contents page on the other hand is clearly laid out with the numbers neatly numbered on the left hand side and also with pictures on the right hand side. The main headlines topic is in blue and a brief explanation is in black.
Schoolorama The front cover is very school style as it has a mid shot of a student and has the title of the magazine clearly on the top in bold and the main topic is highlighted in the middle in a different colour to the rest of the topics. It also has the price clearly labelled at the top. The date is also printed on the cover however the writing is white and so is the background is some parts meaning that it not very easy to read. On the Other hand the majority of the background colour is dark so the white writing goes very well and is readable. At the bottom in the coloured star also seems to draw attention as it stands out from the rest of the page and also the fact that it highlights there are rewards and free things in the magazine will make people want to buy it. The contents on this page links very well to the front cover page. It is differently laid out to how magazine contents page are normally laid out. It has more pictures the contents page is separated into three different parts and also the page numbers are clearly labelled next to each topic. However like the other magazine covers it does not have sub contents to explain what the contents are about
