What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Throughout this course I have learnt to use a variety of programmes in order to successfully complete the task. At the very start of this course we had to set up a blog using blogger. I had heard of blogger before this stage but never used it or knew fully what it exactly was. As my work would be published on blogger I had to learn my way round it familiarise with the website before I could continue. As I familiarised myself with this website I learnt how to upload, post, embed images, documents and videos using Scribd. I also published a poll on my blog which I created as part of my research. For my preliminary task I used word as Photoshop was new to me and as I hadn’t used it before therefore at first I had trouble using it nevertheless as I had to learn I soon familiarised myself with Photoshop with some help. Another website I used was Prezi this is similar to PowerPoint however with Prezi you can design the way you want to present information. I also used PowerPoint to present radial analysis. I used a digital camera to take images for my final product and by using the digital camera I was able to take different shots and uses different focuses in order to create a great product. Once I had uploaded the photos to the computer edited the images by cropping, auto correcting the lighting and giving different back ground colours.

Front Cover, Title is always in large clear bold font with one soild colour, One main image, Text is on top of the main image and sometimes the main images are used as background, Bar codes are at the bottom of the magazine, Bold colour scheme, Certain text written in different colours, Above the title of the magazines there is a solagan or sub heading about the artists featured, Contents Page, One or more images used on the contents page, All writing is on the right hand side, Sub-sections of the magazines are in differnt colour and font, People in the images are stated at the bottom of the page or beneth the images, Simple/minimal colour scheme, l colour is used, Double-page spread, One page is taken up by a large image or sometimes used on the double page spread, Quotes from the article are highlighted and written in a larger font compared with the rest of the article, The article is written in size 11pt, The majority of the article is in black colour,

Music Magazine

Genre

My music magazine's genre will fall in to R&B
and Contemporary Pop. My Music will mostly be about mainstream music because this is what most teenagers listen to in this modern era, this is the main reason why I have chossen this genre of music. There will be a mixture of R&B and Hip-Pop bands mentioned but mostly single artists, like Beyonce, Usher, Jay Sean,Black Eye Peas etc.My target audience will be from 15 to 25 because these ausdience are young and tend to listen to these music and I know this because I come under that age group and my peers and I listen to this genre of music.

Preliminary Task

Evulation Of School Magazines.

I believe that my front cover and contents have all the requirements for what a school magazine and contents page should consist. The photo shopped picture and coloured background I think worked well along with the white texts. To improve it better next time I will use Photoshop to make it more creative to make it look more attractive. The contents page was also done on PowerPoint and is very basic but has all the contents needed to make it a contents page. To improve next time I will again use Photoshop and try and be creative in the layout.

I have kept my contents page very simple because I do not want too much going on therefore I have put all the topics and page number in a section together with pictures of school children surrounding it.

Magazine Covers

My front cover has the tile running the whole way from left to right at the top of the page below it I will have a slogan and a mid shot picture of a student working and surrounding her are going to be all the new stories that are going to be in the magazine. I haven’t written the stories on the sketch because I didn’t know what stories to write at the time when I was sketching the front cover but it will have it on my final piece.
My contents page will have pictures students on the left and all the news topic on the right it will be very simple and readable and will not have much going on

I created my front cover and contents page on PowerPoint. I photo shopped the student in Photoshop and gave her personal background colour to that of the actual back ground colour which is purple. I did this because I wanted more than one colour to make it more interesting and the texts are in white apart from the two slogans.
